Ocean Ridge Plantation and Hurricane Florence

Hurricane Florence has come and went leaving many areas with severe damage. Ocean Ridge Plantation fared very well with limited damage to homes and property.

Many families have reached out to us to determine the status of Ocean Ridge Plantation post hurricane Florence. While Florence was devastating to many areas of North Carolina, Ocean Ridge Plantation and many communities located in the southern Brunswick County received much less damage. Likely due to higher elevations and further proximity to rivers, the flooding issue experienced by Wilmington and areas to the north were not realized in Ocean Isle Beach, Sunset Beach or Calabash.

Ocean Ridge Plantation did experience many fallen trees, debris and power was lost for approximately 30 hours.  The Plantation Club opened back up today, including the fitness center and pool, as well as 2 of the 4 golf courses.

The benefits of the generous elevations in  Ocean Ridge Plantation proved again to be a huge asset as flooding was limited to just a few depressions with no homes reporting interior flooding.
